Jim Neil, a 30-year Law Enforcement veteran and second generation law-enforcement Officer Kicked Off his campaign for Hamilton County Sheriff tonight with a gathering of Family and Friends at the LaRosa’s on Boudinot Ave. Approximately 100 supporters heard Mr. Neil tell them what he is going to do to restore service to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department.

Mr. Neil, a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a Master Degree and numerous other Command Level Schools, rose to the rank of Lieutenant and Commander of the Hamilton County Bomb Squad, before his retirement last year. Throughout Mr. Neil’s 30-year career he has seen the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department go through some uncertain times but none more uncertain as the next few years. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is facing financial adversity due to the current economy. The Sheriff’s Office is being asked to provide the same services with fewer funds. Ineffective decision makers are being reactive to the circumstance. They, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department, are cutting services and threaten to cut even more services with further budget reductions.

“In my opinion, the current solution is not working. Given the opportunity to serve as the next Sheriff of Hamilton County, I strongly feel that I have the answers to provide the citizens of Cincinnati and Hamilton County, not only with the services they expect, but improve on the quality of the services they receive in spite of budget restraints.”

“Increasing service demands with declining resources is the most important challenge faced by both private and public sector organizations. The current solution is producing both serious morale and distrust problems within the organization along with a reduction in public services. In these difficult times, I will be different. Some of my answers to these mounting problems is to be more resourceful, creative, and cooperative. I value people and I believe in working together for the benefit of all.”

“My solution will improve the quality of services provided to the citizens of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. My mission, as your Sheriff, is to protect and serve the citizens of Cincinnati and Hamilton County, to whom, I as your Sheriff have a duty and an obligation.”

Mr. Neil went on to ask the group for their support in this uphill battle, stating,

“I know I’m the most qualified candidate for Sheriff of Hamilton County and with your help and support, we will restore fiscal responsibility, with more service and less politics.”
